Mary Louise Oshlick

Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Oshlick, 74, of Waterford, PA transitioned into her next life on Monday, April 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Lou was born June 9th, in Knox Dale, PA, the daughter of the late Paul E. Sr. & Etha C. Miller.

Mary Lou was a sweet soul.  Her heart was full of kindness, patience, and most of all love.  She had a special bond with all she met, especially her family. You could see the eyes of her grandchildren and great grandchildren light up with joy the moment they would see her. Mary Lou's family will remember her as all of that, but also as their friend. They hold so many memories that will be cherished for the rest of their lives.

Mary Lou’s talented gift was crafting.  She loved teaching others to sew, quilt and knit. She taught with the patience of an angel.  Her passions were Blue Grass music, and her “kids” Jainee and Jeffrey, her beloved parakeets.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Billy Oshlick, Mary Ann (Michael) Stevenson, Michael (Judy) Oshlick, Robert (Tina) Oshlick and Karen (Sean) Brozell; ten grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Jacques, Joshua and Jennifer Stevenson, Carl, Sarah and Anna Oshlick, Jason and Kyle Oshlick, Katie and Jordyn Brozell, three great grandchildren, Joey and Zander Jacques, Carson Stevenson; brothers, Paul E. Jr. (Kathy) Miller and Thomas A. Miller and his friend Karen; many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 3rd floor at Hamot Hospital, Corry Manor and Heartland Hospice.  Their kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mary Lou’s life at Askins Cremation Funeral Services, 8354 Wattsburg Road, Erie, PA16509 on Tuesday, April 18th, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made out to the Union City Public Library, 2 Stranahan Street, Union City, PA16438 or Heartland Hospice, 719 Indiana Drive, Erie, PA16505.
