Charles "Chuck" Edward Hewitt
Charles “Chuck” Edward Hewitt, age 58, of Erie Pennsylvania passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at his home after a long illness as he was surrounded by family, friends, and his beloved dog Hazel.
Chuck was born October 19, 1961, son of the late Charles and Bernice (Clinger) Hewitt.
Chuck graduated from Central Tech in 1980. He worked in construction all his life and was a fine, self-taught carpenter who was always helping his friends repair and remodel their homes. He loved working on his home, always adding his unique style of his woodworking inside and out. Chuck developed a love for antiques and was a collector, something he learned while working in his family’s antique store many years ago. Chuck enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also liked the Cleveland Browns but disliked watching them lose on Sundays.
He is survived by his son, Jammie Scott Hewitt, his daughter, Holly Lynn Dovishak and her fiancé Derek Bennett all of Erie. Chuck is also survived by two beautiful granddaughters Olivia Lynn and Isabella Rose Bennett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Chris and Ronald “Ronny” of Erie.
Instead of having a funeral or services, friends are planning a get-together on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at The Cab, 5442 W. Ridge Rd., Erie, PA 16506 at 6:00 PM. That’s what Chuck wanted. ….Hell Yea.
