Walter William Smith
Walter William Smith, age 61, of Summit Township, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
Born in Miami, Florida on June 20, 1961, he was the son of the late Walter William Bailey and Shelby (Tilley) Smith.
Walt, also known as “Smitty” or “Gunny”, served in the United State Marine Corps for 20 years, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was employed for 15 years with the P.L.C.B. Walt enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and especially karaoke, and was a new member of Grace Church. He will be terribly missed, and long remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Chelune) Federico Smith; his step-son, Antonio Robert Federico (Jennifer) and their children, Nicolas, Aidan, and Emmalyn; his step-brother, Marc Smith, and his sons, James (Katie), and Marc (Ashlie), and their children, James, Wesley, Jordan, and Sienna; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Giaccaglia, and her daughters, Tricia, and Melissa (James), and their children, Sean, Kyle, Hailey, Grace, Megan, Ryan, and Cadin. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles in the West Virginia area.
In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his step-father, Earl Sidney Smith.
Following Walt’s wishes, he will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Services for Walter W. “Gunny” Smith will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Grace Church, 7300 Grubb Road, McKean, PA 16426. All are welcome.
