MARLENE (PHILLIPS) TANNER

Marlene (Phillips) Tanner, 80, of Wattsburg, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Marlene was born on November 10, 1943, in Union City, PA, daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Phillips.

She was formerly employed as a cafeteria manager and cook in the Wattsburg Area School District, also a cook at Country Cookin’ Restaurant in Wattsburg. She was a member of Wattsburg Baptist Church. She oversaw the maple syrup booth at the Wattsburg Erie County fairgrounds and was also involved with the Wattsburg Historical Society. Marlene enjoyed watching NASCAR races and watching her nephew, Greg, make maple syrup.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ruth; her sister, Leah and her husband, Donald Miles, Sr.; and her granddaughter, Cortney Ferguson.

She is survived by one sister, Shirley Walberg of Wattsburg; two sons, Bradley C. Tanner (Jenelle) of Wattsburg, and Brian C. Tanner (Cindy) of Edinboro, and their father, Charles Tanner; grandchildren, Brittney Ferguson, Jordin Ferguson, Brittany Varner (Richard) and Cody Tanner; great granddaughters, Rowyn, Ferris, and Mina; nephew, Greg Walberg (Chris) of Wattsburg; niece, Kim Wiggers (Ray) of Corry; nephew, Don Miles (Lisa) of Kentucky; nephew, Jeff Miles (Rhonda) of North Carolina; nephew, Keith Miles (Darlene) of Indiana; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and their families.

No services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
