James J. “Jim” Robasky

James J. “Jim” Robasky, 81, of Lawrence Park, passed away on May 24, 2022 at UPMC Hamot following a brief and unexpected illness.

Born January 5, 1941, in Erie, Jim was the son of Frank E. and Eleanor (Krasnesky) Robasky.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Frank Bernard Robasky, whom he missed deeply.

Jim is survived by his sisters; Carol Jud (Don), Diana Kilpatrick (Jim), Susan Dombrowski (Ted), and Kathy Szczesny (Bob), all of Erie; his son, James F. Robasky of Harvey’s Lake; daughter-in-law, Dana Robasky-Moyles of Hanover Township; granddaughter, Miranda Robasky of Pittsburgh; extended family Cheryl and her daughters Katie and Julie of Erie; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Jim grew up on a dairy farm, and graduated from Erie Technical High School in 1958 with a focus on auto mechanics. Jim was an awarded veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Nevada for 4 years.

Following his time in the service, Jim worked as a machinist at General Electric from which he was recognized for his excellence in attendance. Jim retired in 1996.

Jim frequented the YMCA near his home, and he liked to indulge in coffee and “stogies.”

A Memorial Mass and burial will be held at Saint Boniface Church, 9367 Wattsburg Rd, Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation begins before the mass at 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow the ceremonies.
