Betty Lois (Stafford) Newhard Nelson
Betty Lois (Stafford) Newhard Nelson, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Juniper Village in Meadville, PA.
Born in Edinboro, PA, on April 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ray Lincoln Stafford and Esther Hazel Rose (Rice) Stafford.
Betty worked in a variety of jobs, from Cleaning Lady to Cafeteria Lady, to a secretary and accounts payable clerk. She was a courier for Roach Biotech, and taught art classes at Asbury Barn. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, dancing, painting and drawing, and genealogy. Her Happy Place was being at the cabin and having family and friends around.
She is survived by her children, Steve Newhard and his former wife Terry, Larry Newhard, Dan Newhard and his former wife Irene, and Pam Newhard-Drake and her husband Tim; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Stafford; her first husband, Dorance Newhard, and her second husband, James Nelson.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at a later date at the cabin.
