Robert “Bob” Pencille

Robert “Bob” Pencille, age 51, of Erie passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 27,2022 at UPMC Hamot.

Bob was born on January 26,1971 to Barbara (Casey) Pencille and the late James Hoffman SR.

Bob was a graduate of Seneca High School, he then joined the United States Army Reserve, stationed at Fort Jackson SC, where he served as a heavy wheel mechanic. In 2007 Bob graduated from Tri-State Business Institute, where he received his Associates degree in computer information systems and networking.

He worked at Sears Auto from 1990-1995, and University Auto from 1995-2005, working as a Mechanic for both companies. He then worked as a machinist for Snap-Tite from 2005-2014, and worked as a Seasoning Technician for Shearers Snacks from 2014-2022, and then started working for Rehrig Pacific Company, where he started as an operator, and then was promoted to Maintenance Technician.

Bob is survived by his mother, Barbara (Casey) Pencille of Erie; his longtime life partner, Amber Meneely of Erie; his daughter, Reba Pencille Wilcox and her husband Justin and their two boys, Alex and Lennon of Union City, PA; daughter, Paige Pencille of Meadville PA;  his son, Shane Pencille of Erie; his son, Cody Gould and his son, Elijah of Corry PA; his son, Kyle Gould of Corry PA.  Bob is also survived by his sister, Shari Hoffman of Fayetteville, NC; his brother, James Hoffman Jr. and his wife Jenn of Union City, PA; his stepmother, Mary Hoffman of Wattsburg PA; his sister, Anne Hall and her significant other, Brad of Wattsburg, PA; and his brother, John Hoffman of Union City PA.  Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, along with five stepchildren, Deepika, Rianna, Tucker, Peyton, and Dawson.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, James Hoffman Sr; his stepfather, William (Bill) Pencille, who Bob decided to legally take his last name, and both sets of maternal and paternal grandparents.

 A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on November 20,2022 at 1:00 PM at Wattsburg Social Hall, 9617 North Street, Wattsburg PA, 16442.
