Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Britton

Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Britton, age 63, of Erie, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Born in Erie on March 15, 1959, he was the son of the late James Louis and Rosemarie (Jerioski) Britton.

Jerry grew up on the lower east side of Erie.  He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.  Jerry was a big Steelers football fan, and enjoyed playing baseball, four-wheeling with his friends, teasing his sisters, and using hot sauce on all foods.  He was of the Catholic faith, a member of Holy Family Church, where he attended school and was a choir boy. Jerry loved the Lord and was a loving brother, uncle, and loyal friend. 

He is survived by his brother, James (Loretta) Britton of Erie; his sisters, Barbara (John) McGuigan of McCormick, SC, Carolyn (Jeff) Irwin of Erie, Ruthanne (Dave) Edinger of Erie, and Rosemary (Dan) Fetzner of Erie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lou Simmons and Cindy Britton, and his nieces, Bethany Simmons, Stephanie McGuigan, and Heather Britton.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
