Judith “Judy” Ann (Hawkins) Bonaminio Sweeney
Judith “Judy” Ann (Hawkins) Bonaminio Sweeney, age 82, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at LECOM at Presque Isle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 29, 1940 in Erie, PA to the late Robert A. and Lucille R. Hawkins. Judy graduated from East High School in 1957. She worked in the mail room at Erie Insurance, from where she retired in 2003.
Judy loved to decorate for ALL of the Holidays and was a collector of wolves and China dolls. She spent her time playing bingo at Schmidt Towers and walking with her beloved caregiver, Carrie Garlington.
Survivors include her sons, Christopher Bonaminio, Sean Sweeney (Lucinda), and Michael Sweeney; her grandchildren, Santina, Patrick, Kristen, Kayla, Karly, Nico, Jarod, Mikey, GiAnna, Kimberly and Jayanna; 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers; her aunts and uncles; her daughter, Anita Bonaminio, and her sons, Joseph Bonaminio and Mark Bonaminio.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church, 707 Sassafras Street, Erie, PA 16501 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 707 Sassafras Street, Erie, PA 16501.
