Katherine Elizabeth (Latos) Crawford
Katherine Elizabeth Crawford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 28, 2022 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Katherine Martin) Latos.
Katherine was an identical twin, born on February 26, 1939. Betty, as she was known to her family and friends, grew up in Corry, PA where she attended Corry Area Schools and graduated in 1957. On October 12, 1957, she married Melvin Adam Crawford. Together they built their house, a loving home, and raised 5 children.
Betty was an extraordinary woman and dedicated her life to her husband and children. She was the most kind-hearted, caring, gentle, loving wife and mother, always putting others ahead of herself. Some of her favorite memories were boating and camping at Kinzua with her family. She was a collector of angels and loved doing puzzles, playing cards, and dominos. Betty was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Elizabeth’s Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Patricia Toplovich, her son-in-law, Randy Lindy, and her dear friend and neighbor, Loretta Roden.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 64 years, Melvin; her son, John Crawford (Danette); her daughters, Vicki Klawuhn (Tim), Sonja Lindy, Tammy Hayes (Bill), and Kathy Crawford, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Dick, Ed, and Walt Latos; her sisters, Rosemary Downey, Diana Lloyd, and Jeanie Adams, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on June 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in Corry, PA, followed by a luncheon at St. Elizabeth’s Parish Center. Her family would like to thank Community Nursing Services for their kindness.
