Charles Edward Hayes
Charles Edward Hayes, age 82, of Fairview Township, passed away on January 17, 2020.
Born in Johnstown, PA, on December 17, 1937, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Mary L. (Wachs) Hayes.
Upon graduation from Johnstown High School in June, 1957, Ed joined the National Guard and served until November, 1966. He married Norma J. Lewis in October, 1958. Ed retired after 29 years with U-Haul, in 1989.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Brown and her husband Dan, and Betsy Hayes; his sons, William Hayes and his wife Tammy, and Adam Hayes and his wife Tammy; a brother, Ronald Hayes of Johnstown, and 2 sisters, Nancy Carrier and her husband Butch of Johnstown, and Judy Fleegle and her husband Ken of Lewistown, PA. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Charles E. Hayes, Jr., his daughter, Palma Wade, and son in law, Randy Wade.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
