Daniel Lewis Sutton
Daniel Lewis Sutton, age 79, of Erie, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at UPMC Hamot.
Born on January 24, 1945 in Erie, he was the son of the late Aaron and Bertha (Eliason) Sutton.
An avid outdoorsman, Daniel loved hunting and fishing. He was employed at Hammermill until its closing. He served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam in Cam Ranh Bay. Daniel was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Suzanne M. (Mannion) Sutton; his children, Charles Daniel Sutton (Heather), and Lisa Mulliken (James); his grandchildren, David “DJ” Marshall (Lexi Frazier), Alex Marshall, Bryanna “Brenna” Sutton (Joseph Lastowski), Leigha Knoll (Michael), and Kimberlee Mulliken, and his great grandchildren, Mia and Maeve. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara Laser (Rich Carbone), Billy Sutton, Kenny Sutton (Diane), Jenny Phelps (Dave), Kathy Bliss (Pat), Joyce Sutton, Eugene Sutton (Kim), and Charles Ricky Sutton; his sisters in law, Kathy Ostercamp (Bill), Barbara May (Robert), Carolyn Kuhn (James); his godchild, Dawn Williams, and many nieces and nephews he cared deeply for.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald, James, Michael, Aaron, and Thomas Sutton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Chrissy Blood for the loving care she gave him.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery at a later date with military honors.
