Ralph Oatman, Jr.

Ralph Oatman, Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Western Reserve.

Born on January 17, 1939, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Esther (Davis) Oatman.

He graduated from St. Vincent High School.  He loved to play the organ for many churches in the Erie area and for weddings.  He served in the U.S. Army and trained K-9 dogs for the military.  After leaving the Army, he worked at the Broom Factory in Union City.  He moved to Erie to work at the Blair Company for many years before retiring.

Ralph is survived by his brothers, James Oatman (Donna) of Ashtabula, OH, Robert Oatman (Bernadette) of Erie, Donald Oatman (Mary) of Washington, PA, and Richard Oatman of Jacksonville, FL, and many nephews and nieces, including Jennifer (Boyd) Curtze, whom he was especially close to.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, William Oatman, Eddie Oatman, and Bonnie Boyd.

There will be no viewing or visitation due to COVID-19. 

Private services will be held at a later date at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
