Mary “Bebe” Frances Gallagher
Mary “Bebe” Frances Gallagher, passed away on July 26, 2022 at 8:25 AM at the age of 85. She was born to James P. and Helen (Branch) Gallagher on February 16, 1937 in Uhrichsville, OH.
Mary was a graduate of McDowell High School’s first graduating class in 1955. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Business Degree from Mercyhurst College, leading to a career at the Erie Times-News. In addition, she was a joint owner of Textures Gallery in Erie, PA.
Mary was a single mother who raised six children alone and worked multiple jobs to support her family, of which one of her jobs was working the Boston Store switchboard. She had a love of gardening, reading, oil painting, furniture refinishing, and had a truly talented and creative nature. She passed down dedication, hard-working, and creative qualities among all her family.
Mary is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Waller, Heidi Blakeslee, Mary Foulk, and Nanci Haibach. She was a grandmother to twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a brother, James P. Gallagher, Jr. and a sister, Patricia A. Rukat. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Miles Heater and John Paul Heater.
At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Any donations in her honor may be submitted to the Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services.
