Joseph (Joe) James Szczesny
Joseph (Joe) James Szczesny, age 82, of Erie, PA passed away on September 18, 2018.
Joe was born in Erie on September 11, 1936. He graduated from East High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1962.
Joe worked as a department supervisor for American Sterilizer (AMSCO) for 20 years. For past times, Joe enjoyed playing drums, fishing, sports, and music of all types, but especially jazz.
Joe is survived by son Jeffrey Szczesny and grandchildren Carly, Nicholas, and Christy; daughter Vicky Daniels (Szczesny) and son in law Gary Daniels; son Justin Szczesny and daughter in law Alena Szczesny (Mountain) and grandchildren Juliana, Aaden, and Declan; and son Jared Szczesny; sisters Yvonne Thomas, Frances August, Stephanie Emerick, and Helen Sorensen.
Joe is preceded in death by his aunt Bernice Mary August (who raised him); grandfather John Szczesny and grandmother Theodora Szczesny; brothers John and Charlie, and sisters Mary Ellen Kwitowski and Henrietta August.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM at Providence Reformed Baptist Church of Erie, 7870 West Ridge Road #4, Fairview, PA 16415 on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Pastor John Swindlehurst will preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. and Joe will be recognized.
The family of Joseph J.
