Herman Lee Bowman
Herman Lee Bowman, age 67, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Born in Cleveland, OH, on December 10, 1951, he was a son of the late Lucious and Cora (Baylock) Bowman.
Herman attended John Adams High School in Cleveland. He worked as a butcher for many years, then was employed by the City of Erie Streets Department for 20 years. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Herman was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan, and was a 1st Dan in Tae Kwan Do. He loved to shop on television shopping networks, always seeking top quality merchandise.
Herman is survived by his loving wife, Darlene (Winiarczyk) Bowman of Erie; 3 sons, DJuan Stevens and his wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC, Devale Stevens and his wife Shemika of Charlotte, NC, and D'Angelo Bowman and his wife Nicole of Hudson, OH; 1 daughter, Toni Gresham and her husband Charles of Cleveland, OH; 2 step sons, Jeremy Winiarczyk (Shaunna) and Kashaun Preston (Diane) both of Erie, PA; 2 step daughters, Marisha Winiarczyk and Kesha Roberts and her husband Jason, both of Erie, PA; his brother, Cecil Bowman of Cleveland, OH; 2 sisters, Marian Bowman of Lancaster, CA, and Willen Bowman (Fox) of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by 2 close cousins, Brendolyn Ray Edwards of Atlanta, GA, and Denise Bailey of Cleveland, OH; his special friends, Kenneth Griffin of Cleveland, OH, and Alonzo Dozier of Euclid, OH; 14 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bowman, and a nephew, Shilow Bowman.
Friends may call at Askins Cremation Funeral Services, 8354 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, PA 16509 on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
