Debra Jean (Barr) Myer
Debra Jean (Barr) Myer, age 64, of Erie, PA, formerly of Sheffield, PA, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
Debra was born to Ernest and Carol (Stranburg) Barr in Warren County and was raised in the area. She attended and graduated from Sheffield High School in 1975. She met then married James Myer on March 20, 1982. She bartended and waitressed at Andrea’s Restaurant and The Hillside for many years. She enjoyed bartending and seeing all her favorite customers. Debra also worked as an aide at Cambridge Warren and the Ruth M. Smith Center. She loved working as an aide and being able to help others.
Debra enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandbabies who were the light of her life. She had a heart of gold and would give anyone a chance. She was a “fill-in” mom and grandma for several of her children’s friends. She even let a few move into her house at various times.
She is survived by her husband, James Myer; her children, Jaimee Perry (Scott), and Edward Myer; her siblings, Patricia Fellows, John Almendinger (Eugenia), and Shirley Ecker; her grandchildren, Logan, Wyatt, and Gabriella; 2 aunts, and several cousins.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Carol Almendinger, and Ernest Barr.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Debra on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Sheffield Lion’s Den, 4 S. Main St., Sheffield, PA 16347.
Memorial donations are being accepted by the family to help with arrangement expenses, or donate to the American Lung Association or AseraCare Hospice.
