Lawrence Gerald Wachter

Lawrence Gerald “Larry” Wachter, formerly of Kearney, NE, age 65, died from natural causes suddenly on Friday, October 20th, 2017, in his home in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Larry was born May 3rd, 1952 in Travis County, TX, to Walter and Berneice (Eldridge) Wachter. He was 4th of 5 children.  The family lived in England and Germany while Walter was serving this country in the U.S. Air Force.  After returning to the States, Larry attended school in Fort Worth, TX, where he met and married Glenna Lawson and had his 1st daughter.  By 1975, Larry moved to Lincoln, NE where he met and married Joyce Magorian and had his daughter and son. Around 1996, Larry moved to Kearney, NE to be close to his parents, and around 2012, he moved to the Erie, PA region to be close to his elder daughter and half of his grandchildren.

Larry always thought his greatest accomplishment in life was his 3 children. He wanted to be remembered as a free spirit and he wanted his family to know that they were very important to him.

Survivors include his three children and their spouses, son Matthew Wachter and his wife Robyn of Kearney, NE, daughter Sara McCarrol and her husband Shaun of Armadale, Australia, and daughter Victoria Ranee White and her husband Guy of Lake City, PA;  brothers, Bruce Wachter and Richard Wachter;  Sister Sheila Lindenstein of Kearney, NE; and 10 grandchildren, Amber, Triston, Braydon, Jade and Koral White of Lake City, PA and Kianna, Caleb, Kapryce, Cayden and Kyleigh McCarrol of Armadale, Australia.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Wachter.

Following Larry's wishes, there will be no viewing or visitaion, but condolences & fond memories may be sent to the family, care of Askins Cremation Funeral Services, 8354 Wattsburg Road, Erie, PA 1509.
