Larry Burns, Sr.
Larry Burns, Sr., age 78, of Erie, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Born in Erie, on May 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Floyd D. and Viola G. (Smawley) Burns.
Larry was a hard worker and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with family, being goofy with his grandchildren, and going to the casino.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane; his sons, Larry Jr., Todd, and Troy Burns; his grandchildren, Amanda Dzeskewicz (Aaron), Paige Hodubski (Broden), Jacob Burns, and Thomas Burns, and his great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Owen, and Isla. He is also survived by his brother, Kenny Burns (Patrice); his sisters, Judy Salsbury (Harold “Kip”), and Kathleen Fetzner (Mike), and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Schoening) Burns; his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Nather; his infant brother, Francis; his brothers, Floyd Jr. “Butch”, Richard “Dickie” Burns, and brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Kathy Burns, and his mother-in-law, Pauline Schoening.
Private services will be held for family and friends.
