Lillian Natalie Niedrich
Lillian Natalie Niedrich, age 81, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the VA Medical Center in Erie, following a brief illness.
Born on September 26, 1934 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Doris Crawford Niedrich.
She was raised in Erie, PA, until serving in the Women's Army Corps Regular Army as a cook and mess sergeant at Fort Benning, GA. Upon discharge, she moved to Allentown, PA, where she worked as a die cutter for men's wear for the Phoenix Company for approximately 20 years.
Returning to Erie, Lillian worked at the Soldiers and Sailors Home as a cook. Lillian loved to travel and adored cats.
She is survived by one brother, Walter Niedrich (Dorothy) of Leitchfield, KY; two nieces, Cindy Baker (Claude) of Florida, and Mary Jane Skaggs (Kevin) of KY; one nephew, Thomas Niedrich of KY; several great-nieces and great-nephews; a special cousin, Roberta Kuzma (Joseph) of Erie; and a good friend, Julie (Paul) Turylo - Wargo, of Allentown, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her close friend, John J. 'Duffy' Barrett.
There will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
