Maurice Guy Pettit
Maurice Guy Pettit “Mo” died peacefully on January 20, 2019 at the age of 90. He was born on June 11, 1928 to William and Ava Pettit in Marion, OH.
After graduating from Bucyrus (OH) High School, Maurice attended The Ohio State University. He attended OSU from 09/27/1948 to 03/17/1961 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Education on 06/09/1961 with a major of English and a minor of Speech. His sharp mind, quick wit, and charm, served him well as an English teacher and real estate appraiser. He married Sally Gibson in Lexington, OH. They worked together in real estate in central Ohio, loved family, and enjoyed time in the Caribbean islands. When she died in 1984, he moved to Erie, PA.
He is survived by in-laws, Tom and Susan Fox (Gibson), numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear friend Carol.
In addition to his wife Sally, he was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Wilbur Pettit, Marilyn Yost, and Lois Luken.
In respect of his wishes to remain a very private person, no formal service will be held. His ashes will be spread with family. To celebrate his life, enjoy a private toast in his honor. This is a perfect way to remember Mo and one we can do with frequency.
