Rodney Allen Smith

Rodney Allen Smith, 52, of Millcreek Township, passed away following a courageous battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.

He was born on April 29, 1966 in Clearfield, PA to the late Mary Lou (Cutler) Smith Dubler of Clearfield, PA and Daniel Smith, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama.

Rodney attended Clearfield schools.  He worked as an Auto Body Technician at Moyers Auto Body in Clearfield, PA and also Danser Collision in Erie, PA.  Rodney attended the Wesleyville Baptist Church.

He had a great love of his wife and children.  He fought the valiant fight to stay with them as long as possible.  He was a true warrior to the end.  His joy of life, his willingness to help anyone, and kind heart will be greatly missed by so many.

Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Smith, a nephew Michael Smith, Jr., and an uncle, Don (Skeeter) Cutler.

Rodney was the beloved husband of Julie Anne (Berlin)Smith, and father of his wonderful sons Hunter Allen Smith and Cameron Scott Smith, both at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel Smith, Jr. and wife Lori of Clearfield, PA and Michael Smith, Sr., of Tarzan, TX; two sisters, Brooke Rich and husband Billy of Birmingham, Alabama and Brandy Cone and husband Eric of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers in law, Steven Berlin of Millcreek, PA and David Berlin and wife Cindy of Gales Ferry, CT; one sister in law, Crystal Cragle and husband Trevor of Waterford, PA; his loving mother in law and father in law Richard and Esther Berlin of Millcreek; one aunt, Marilyn Cutler of Clearfield, PA; five nephews, Jason, Ben, Maynard, Nathan, and Tanner, and seven nieces, Jessica Rowles and husband Corey, Brooke, Ashton, Kayla, Lexie, Emma, and Julia.

Finally he is survived by many wonderful cousins, friends, family at Wesleyville Baptist Church, and his dearest friend who was with him at the end, Andreas Reuling.

The family wants to send a huge thank you to the amazing nursing staff on the 8th floor at Saint  Vincent Hospital, and the staff and nurses at the Infusion Center at Saint Vincent Hospital for their love and care of our dear Rodney.  We also want to thank the doctors and staff at the Regional Cancer Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wesleyville Baptist Church on July 14, 2018.  Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM.  Reverend Mark McCallion will be officiating.
