John Fitzgerald Bliss
John F. Bliss, age 62, of Millcreek Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Born on November 22 1963, John the youngest of 12 children. He was a lifelong avid Steelers fan and loved collecting their memorabilia. He also enjoyed volunteering at many Erie events and building sand sculptures. John was a graduate of McDowell High School. He loved to make others happy and often made his famous chili to feed others. He will be missed by his loving family members.
John is survived by his siblings, Joyce Beatty (Dave), Robin Weislogel (Don), Ruby Buck (David), Robert Bliss, Crystal Gardener (Dave), Michael Bliss (Mary), James Bliss (Rose), Jennifer Bliss, Betsy Ruoff (Tim); his sister-in-law Rita, and many, many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Horne; his father, Robert Bliss; his stepfather, James Horne; his stepmother, Joyce Bliss, and his brother, Ken Bliss.
Following John’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. The family is requesting memorial donations please be made to Erie AA or charity of their choice.
