Patricia Arlene (Legenzoff) Davis April 21, 1942 - October 13, 2026
Patricia Arlene Davis, passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 84, in the family home where she raised her children, surrounded by the love of her Family..
Patricia, affectionately known as Patty, was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. She grew up across the street from St. George Church in a stone house built by her father and uncles, and attended St. George School. Patty often shared fond memories of her childhood, remembering her Italian mother preparing pasta e fagioli for the parish priest on Sunday. In 1960, she graduated from McDowell High School, where she was voted “Friendliest” and crowned Prom Queen. Patty later married her high school sweetheart, Terry Davis. Together they had four children.
Patty came from a family deeply rooted in the Erie community. Her father, Eric Legenzoff, and his brothers were instrumental in the creation and leadership of the CYS Club and were among the original members of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity in Erie.
Throughout her life, Patty demonstrated remarkable resilience, creativity, determination, and an adventurous spirit. Even at eighty-four, she could still be found climbing ladders, hanging wallpaper, and repairing rooftops. When an aggressive cancer appeared and rapidly progressed in the final month of her life, she faced it with the same courage and strength that defined every chapter of her journey. As a devoted mother raising her four children, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Her professional journey reflected her many talents and willingness to reinvent herself whenever life called for it.
She began her career in her thirties as a waitress at The Station Restaurant when it first opened. She put her artistic talents to work in interior design, painting and installing wall coverings throughout the NY and PA area while also helping with countless family projects. She eventually earned her cosmetology license and enjoyed a successful career in hair styling, coloring, and makeup artistry.
In her fifties, Patty relocated to California, where she discovered a new calling in healing and wellness. In Carlsbad, she was instrumental in the opening of The Four Seasons Spa and worked as a massage therapist before expanding her practice to become an esthetician and holistic wellness practitioner. She studied and shared therapies including craniosacral work, Tibetan singing bowls, sound healing, and other restorative treatments. Her caring touch and healing gifts enriched the lives of family, friends, and clients alike. In later years, she divided her time between Carlsbad, California, and her beloved home in Millcreek, Pennsylvania, maintaining deep connections to the communities and people she loved in both places. Through every chapter of her life, she faced challenges with courage, grace, and an unwavering belief in love.
Patty was always there for her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Each Christmas, she lovingly carried on her mother’s tradition of making Italian pizzelle cookies together with the family. Patty will be remembered for her adventurous, fun-loving spirit, playful nature, and eagerness to embrace life to the fullest. Whether she was chasing a storm for the thrill of it or setting off on an impromptu adventure, she was always ready to say “yes” to life’s experiences.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Christopher Davis; her parents, Eric Legenzoff and Anna Addessi; and her sister, Sandra Wise.
Patty is survived by her daughters, Bryn Starr Best, Kellie Lynn Davis, and Marnee Rea Davis; her siblings, Melody Huelsebush, Eric Legenzoff, and Char Magaro; her grandchildren, Christine Star Davis-Best, Theodore Davis Best, and Danielle Davis Grabow; and her great-grandchildren, Marlii Lynn Faske and Jemma Julianne Best, Her sons-in-law, Ted Best and Ron Dwinnell, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Patty taught us to meet life’s challenges with courage, compassion, and an open heart, with faith and trust in The Creator of Life. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on through the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with kindness and healing.
