Samuel Albert Smith, Sr.
Samuel Albert Smith, Sr., age 83, of Erie, formerly of Corry, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
Born on April 28, 1935 in Bear Lake, PA, he was a son of the late Thomas L. and Katherine (Mallory) Smith.
Samuel enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, and creating with his hands. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, who were the highlights of his life. He was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Corry, where he served on the vestry and as an usher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Williams) Smith of Erie; his son, Samuel A. Smith, Jr. of Corry; his daughter, Melanie L. Pollock and her husband Kevin of Girard; his brothers, Thomas L. Smith and his wife Beverly of Panama, NY, and Perry M. Smith and his wife Marilyn of Meadville; his sister, Ruby E. Nelson of Columbus, PA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeffrey, and his sister, Mary Ellen Jaquith.
There will be no viewing.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30AM until 11:00AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Corry, 327 North Center Street, Corry, PA 16407. Reverend Mary Norton will be officiating.
