Claude E. McGuire
Claude E. McGuire, age 81, of Union City, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026.
Born in Union City, PA on July 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Emmett and Elizabeth (Trojanovich) McGuire.
Claude worked for the Erie Lackawana Railroad as a signal maintainer for 13 years. He was a farmer, and worked as a shotblaster for Vitco/FastFab until his retirement in 2008.
In his younger years, he was an avid trapper and hunter. His work ethic and dependability were like no other. He would be the first to help anyone in need. He was one to put everyone else’s needs above his own. Claude got the most enjoyment out of life traveling on the weekends with his wife of 59 years, Kathleen (Christie) McGuire and their dog, Buddy. He had a great sense of humor, with always that mischievous glint in his eyes.
He is survived by his sons, Claude Jr. and his wife Rhonda, and James McGuire; his daughter, Mary (McGuire) Ball and her husband Gary; his sister, Sarah (McGuire) Waring, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy”; a daughter, Kay Elizabeth McGuire; his brothers, Bob, Emmett, Rodney, Tom, and John McGuire, and his sister, Janet (McGuire) Kelly.
