Alonzo Gene (Geno) Turner

 

Alonzo Gene (Geno) Turner, age 54, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Erie, PA, on March 22, 1962, he was the son of Alonzo (Al) Turner and the late Judy Dunlap Turner Whitford.

Alonzo attended Tech Memorial High School and following his graduation joined the U.S. Air Force.  He was an avid genealogist, and exceptional artist, and one of the top pool players in the Erie area.  He was admired for his ability to overcome life's tough obstacles and for his deep love and commitment to his family.

In addition to his father and step mother, Christine Turner, Alonzo is survived by his step father, Duane Whitford; 3 sisters, Cheri Turner Howard and her husband, Wayne, of Erie, Shawn Turner Mackey of Conneaut, OH, and Jill Turner Livingston of Niceville, FL;  3 step sisters, Ina Farler Turben, Tina VanHooser Burbules, Wanda VanHooser Rhoads;  1 step brother, Christopher Farler, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, September 11th from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Kingsley United Methodist Church, 913 Cranberry Street, Erie, PA.  In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Erie County Blasco Library, 160 East Front Street, Erie, PA 16507.
