Joan A. (Bonich) Egan
Joan A. (Bonich) Egan, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Pleasant Ridge Manor, Girard, PA.
She was born October 30, 1938 in Queens, NY, daughter of Anthony V. and Rose Siciliano Bonich.
Joan was a homemaker and later a bank teller until her retirement. Upon retirement she worked PT for Slater Pharmacy in Ronkonkoma, NY and also volunteered for over 10 years at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, Patchogue, NY.
She moved to the Erie, PA area in 2016 and took up where she left off with volunteering at St. Vincent Hospital and Pleasant Ridge Manor. Mom loved helping people, never once expecting anything in return.
Joan is survived by two daughters, Eileen Egan Erhart of Erie and Elizabeth Egan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a son, William Egan (Rola), of Anderson, SC; sister, Madeline Curreri of Massapequa, NY; and brother, Harry Kraft (Suzan), of Dania, Fl; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, one granddog and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Egan in 2014, a brother, Richard Kraft in 2015, and her former husband William Egan in 2015.
Memorial Masses to be held on December 8, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Manor Chapel, Girard, PA, and in Patchogue, NY on July 27, 2019.
A special thank you to all the staff on Unit G at Pleasant Ridge Manor who took such great care of our Mom.
