Veronica "Dolly" Hartstein
Veronica "Dolly" Hartstein, loving mother, age 79, of Girard Township, passed on to Glory in the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2017.
Born June 1, 1938 in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Jaskiewicz) Wojtasik.
Dolly graduated from St. Benedict Academy in Erie. Dolly had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated employee and retired from Rich's Products.
On July 4, 1964, she married James L. Hartstein in Wesleyville. They both were avid campers and bingo players, and also enjoyed playing many card games until his death, March 11, 2007. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Hartstein and his wife, Maryann, and grandpuppies, Buck and Molly, of Girard; 2 sisters, Dorothy Stadtmiller and Gertrude "Cookie" Wojtasik, both of Erie; sisters in law, Dorothy Wojtasik, Sara Jane Beardsley, Louise Smail, and Marlene Hartstein, all of Erie, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Veronica was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Irene Long, Rita Bottorf, and Frances Wojtasik; and 5 brothers, Walter, Joseph, Edward, Stanley, and Raymond Wojtasik. She was also preceded in death by her dog, Drew-P-Dawg.
Family and friends will gather at East Lake Road Alliance Church, 4500 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511 on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10:00AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00AM. Pastor David Voelker will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 110 West 10th St., Erie, PA 16501.
Askins Cremation Funeral Services, 8354 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, PA 16509 is assisting the family with arrangements.
