Jay E. Vogt

Jay E. Vogt, age 74, of Waterford, took his journey home to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 8, 2026, after an extended battle with dementia, surrounded by those who loved him.

Born in Erie on June 1, 1952, he was the son of the late Harold and Mae (Kays) Vogt.

A 1970 graduate of Wattsburg Area High School, he went on to become a third-generation painting contractor.  He was the owner and operator of Landmark Painting Inc. He served on several church positions throughout the years; he was also an active member of Gideons International for many years.  Jay was an avid golfer and shared that love of golf with his sons.  He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed collecting sports cards and coins. He loved history, visiting historical sites, and spending time with his family, which was his greatest joy.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Deborah, and his children and grandchildren, Jayme (Brian), Tyler, Kyleigh, and Abbi, and Justin (Shannon), Caleb, and Connor.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his son, Jayson Vogt.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank Interim Healthcare, Pleasant Ridge Hospice Floor C, and Askins Cremation Funeral Services.
